How to teach ANY dog the perfect STAY! (part 1)

This is the most important thing that a dog should know. In this video I will show you the fundamentals of how to begin to teach this. It is by no means entirely conclusive to the training that is involved in teaching stay.

The final step is to proof STAY around distractions, which I will discuss in the second part of this video.
If you have any questions or concerns about ‘STAY’, let me know in the comments so I can address it in the next video.
Thanks for watching and subscribing!

    I love it.

My 14 wk old puppy – big distraction is the cat. I think he thinks when I walk past kitty the cat will get the treat…sighs. I think because I have trained them to both sit and wait together to give both a treat. Trouble is my Bengal thinks he is a dog, comes on walks and even fetches a ball – now I have them both waiting outside the bathroom for me lol !

Door knocking and new people arriving …………mine likes to jump and try to lick there mouth and then crotches them in the front and rear!

I'd rather see him use an untrained dog for the sake of some realism. People might expect there untrained dogs to just lay there like that sleepy dog.

This was not helpful because the dog already knows the command. Use a dog that dosnt know the command.

This dog is seems already trained to me. Why not use an untrained dog to make it realistic.

#Waylon Greer We just got a new 11 month old dog. I watched one of your videos on basic commands the other day. And our dog is already sitting, laying down, and is starting to figure out roll over. I'm going to get a training clicker today, and start watching some more videos! Thank you for having these videos on here. They're a wonderful resource! @Anna Dmitrieva

These videos are informative but it's not really that helpful because you're not working through issues. Everyone is going to encounter issues because their dog obviously isn't trained in the STAY command.

"First of all I would highly recommend Doggy Dan's online video dog training  as the best dog training site for anyone who desires to get good results from dog training program [Details Here === https://plus.google.com/u/0/110226900097507142274/posts/dcP6kRR9WiT ]. The monthly subscription price is relatively cheap compared with what other offline trainers would charge in a few hours. I am very comfortable with this program and the results are just great."

Your movements and commands and treat giving and clicks are so precise and clean. Mine are sloppy and I ultimately end up confusing my dog a bit I think. :-/

This is great I've taught my 2 year old child to sit and stay even when I take his candy he won't break a stay. If anyone has a good video on how to get your child to retrieve waterfowl let me know.

Not only is this guy a great DOG trainer, but he is an excellent human trainer, in that he warns the human trainer NOT what to do as he explains the training.

The trainer at my puppy class uses "Free" as a release command as well. But we say it way more enthusiastically to make it fun for the puppies!
